IMD forecasts increased rainfall across Odisha

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 30: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected to affect several parts of Odisha for the next five days, with a fresh weather system likely to form over the Bay of Bengal. Rainfall of varying intensity will continue across most parts of the state over the coming week, with increased downpour anticipated due to the developing system, expected to emerge over the Bay of Bengal by Wednesday.

In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued a yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rain in at least 19 districts over the next 24 hours.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) may occur at isolated locations in Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, and Cuttack. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is likely in isolated areas of Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Deogarh, Boudh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri.

Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is expected in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, Bargarh, and Nuapada. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) may occur in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Sonepur, and Boudh.
August 2:
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is likely in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, and Keonjhar.
August 3:
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) may impact Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Jharsuguda.
