Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 2: On Friday, three family members were rescued in critical condition after an alleged suicide attempt involving poison in Cuttack city, Odisha. The incident occurred in a house in Sector-6 of the CDA area, under the jurisdiction of Markat Nagar Police Station.
The family, consisting of a man, his wife, and their son, was discovered after they reportedly consumed poison in their rented home. They were immediately taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where their condition remains serious.
While the exact cause of their desperate action is still under investigation, it is suspected that financial difficulties may have played a role. According to the house owner, the family had been unable to pay rent for the past two to three months.
Police and a scientific team have visited the scene and are conducting an investigation into the incident.
