Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 9: The Odisha government has launched an investigation into the helicopter travels conducted by former 5T Chairman V K Pandian and the associated expenses incurred during his state-wide tours. Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena announced on Friday that a detailed probe is underway to examine the helicopter usage of the former IAS officer prior to the recent elections.
Minister Jena emphasized that the investigation will be thorough, and appropriate actions will be taken if any irregularities or misappropriations of government funds are discovered. He reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption, asserting that the misuse of public money in any form is unacceptable.
Jena also highlighted that the BJP government is committed to maintaining strict adherence to established regulations concerning the use of helicopter facilities. Only individuals who meet specific criteria are authorized to utilize such services, and any deviations from these rules will be addressed accordingly.
The BJP had previously accused the government of spending approximately Rs 500 crore on Pandian’s helicopter tours, fueling the call for a detailed investigation into the alleged misuse of funds.
