Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 17: The Lok Sabha has constituted several key committees for the 2024-25 session, including the Public Accounts Committee, the Estimates Committee, and the Public Undertakings Committee.
The Committee on Public Undertakings, comprising 15 Lok Sabha MPs and seven Rajya Sabha members, will be led by Baijayant Panda, BJP MP from Kendrapada, Odisha. Sanjay Jaiswal from the BJP will head the Committee on Estimates.
These committees are tasked with examining and scrutinizing the government’s financial activities and the operations of public enterprises. They play a crucial role in overseeing government accounts and ensuring transparency and accountability in public enterprises.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat has announced these appointments as part of its efforts to enhance oversight and governance. Speaker Om Birla’s decision underscores the importance of these committees in maintaining financial integrity and effective management of public resources.
