Odisha CM celebrates Raksha Bandhan with sister and local community

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 19: On Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi celebrated Raksha Bandhan at an event held at the State Guest House in Odisha’s capital. His sister, Rasamani Majhi, tied a rakhi on him during the festivities.

The event also saw the participation of girls from schools, colleges, and various institutions, who tied rakhis to the Chief Minister. In return, he blessed them and distributed sweets and gifts.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida also took part in the celebration by tying a rakhi to the CM. The event was attended by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) sanitation workers, children from SOS Village in Bhubaneswar, members of Prajapati Brahmakumari, and women journalists.

In his address, Chief Minister Majhi highlighted the significance of Raksha Bandhan, which coincides with Gamha Purnami. He extended his wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all the sisters in the state and announced the upcoming implementation of the Subhadra Yojana to ensure their safety. Schools and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and Bhubaneswar-Ekamra MLA Babu Singh were also present at the event.
