Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 27: The Odisha Assembly on Tuesday was informed that 191 illegally constructed apartments and buildings in Bhubaneswar are set to be demolished. Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra provided this update while responding to a question from BJD MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain.
Minister Mohapatra revealed that the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has registered a total of 491 cases against unauthorized constructions. Of these, demolition orders have been issued for 191 cases, and 63 cases have been dismissed. Currently, 237 cases are under judicial review.
Additionally, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has filed 1,444 cases related to unauthorized buildings. Out of these, 451 cases have been resolved, while 993 cases remain pending. The Minister emphasized ongoing efforts to address illegal constructions in the city.
