Odisha higher secondary schools required to ensure working CCTVs for transparent exams

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Sept 9: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha has instructed all school Principals and Heads to ensure that CCTVs in examination halls and strong rooms are fully operational. In a letter issued earlier this month, CHSE emphasized the need for these measures to facilitate a smooth and transparent Annual Higher Secondary Examination for 2025.

The directive mandates that all higher secondary schools affiliated with CHSE Odisha must record activities in strong rooms, examination halls, Centre Superintendent offices, and all laboratories (for self-financing schools) using CCTV cameras. Additionally, the letter from Controller of Examinations Prasanta Kumar Parida specifies that live streaming of CCTV footage is required for CHSE, School and Mass Education department officials, and district authorities to monitor exam centre activities.

Schools are required to adhere to these guidelines by November 15. Failure to install the CCTV systems and comply with CHSE directives by the deadline may result in the cancellation of the examination centre for both theory and practical exams, and further action from the state government.
