Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 15: BJP President JP Nadda announced on Tuesday the appointment of Kendrapada MP Baijayant Panda as the party’s in-charge for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. Panda, who serves as the national vice-president of the BJP, will lead the party’s efforts in the national capital.
Additionally, party MP Atul Garg has been appointed as the co-in-charge for the Delhi polls, according to a letter issued by BJP’s national general secretary Arun Singh. The elections in Delhi are scheduled for February 2025.
In a related note, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, also an MP from Sambalpur in Odisha, previously served as the BJP election in-charge for Haryana, where he played a pivotal role in the party’s success, securing a hat trick despite anti-incumbency sentiments in the recent state elections.
The BJP has seen significant success in Odisha, winning 20 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats in the last general elections. The party also achieved a historic milestone by forming its first government in the state, claiming a majority with 74 seats in the Assembly polls and ending the 24-year reign of the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government.
