Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 25: A second-year MBBS student at MKCG Medical College in Berhampur, Odisha, has raised allegations of ragging against senior students, prompting the college authorities to initiate an investigation. Sources indicate that the anti-ragging committee of the college has begun examining the claims made by the student.

The allegations suggest that several students residing in different hostels have experienced both physical and mental harassment from their seniors. In response to these complaints, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has acknowledged the concerns raised by the parents of the affected students and has directed the Dean of the medical college to carry out a thorough investigation.

The college administration has expressed its commitment to cooperating with the inquiry and has established an internal committee to address the allegations. This follows a previous incident several months ago involving Rudra Raut, a second-year student who was also a victim of ragging, leading to disciplinary action against four senior students. Two of them were barred from campus for two months, while the other two were instructed to vacate their hostel and refrain from attending classes for two weeks.
