Odisha CM: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 29: The Odisha government organized the ‘Run for Unity’ marathon in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, celebrating the upcoming birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the event at Kalinga Stadium, hosted by the Sports and Youth Services Department.
Participating in the run himself, the Chief Minister administered an oath promoting unity within the country. The event also saw the attendance of Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, various ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and the Chief Secretary.
Over 2,000 participants, including members from different sports organizations and students from various schools, joined the marathon.
Every year on October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is celebrated as ‘Rashtriya Ekata Dibasa’. However, this year, due to Diwali coinciding with the anniversary, the ‘Run for Unity’ was held on October 29.
CM Mohan Majhi emphasized Patel’s significant contribution to the unity and integrity of the nation, urging everyone to draw inspiration from his ideals to further strengthen the country.
