Omfed ghee: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 9: The Odisha government has announced that only Omfed ghee will be used in important temples across the state to preserve the sanctity of religious practices. This decision was shared by Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik on Saturday.

The move follows allegations that adulterated ghee was being used in various temples. “Omfed ghee is already being used in the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, and it will now be used in other major temples as well,” Mallik informed reporters. He added that district collectors have been instructed to ensure that Omfed ghee is used in all significant temples across the state.

The Minister also highlighted the growing demand for Omfed products in rural areas and announced plans to establish Omfed stalls in villages to meet this demand. “We are working on setting up Omfed stalls in every village to serve customers better. Our priority is to boost milk production in Odisha,” he said.

Mallik emphasized that the government is committed to significantly increasing milk production in the state by providing necessary facilities and incentives to dairy farmers.
