Odisha CM: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 14: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi issued a strong warning on Thursday, vowing that strict action would be taken against those causing disruptions and hindering the smooth functioning of cooperative societies in the state.
Speaking at the 71st All India Cooperative Week celebrations in Bhubaneswar, the Chief Minister assured that the government was closely monitoring these “disturbing elements” and would not tolerate any attempts to create obstacles in the operations of cooperative societies.
Majhi emphasized that individuals trying to disrupt the peaceful functioning of cooperative societies would face severe consequences. “We have Jharpada jail for those who try to harm cooperative societies. This is a people’s government, and we will not spare anyone interfering with our work for the people,” the Chief Minister warned.
Majhi also criticized the previous BJD government, accusing it of failing to fulfill promises made to farmers. He highlighted the unkept pledge of an additional Rs 100 bonus above the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy, claiming that farmer suicides had risen during the previous government due to the lack of such support.
