chain snatching: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 14: In a heart-wrenching incident, U Bishnu Patra, a woman who sustained severe head injuries after being attacked by chain snatchers three days ago, passed away in a hospital in Bhubaneswar. Bishnu, a resident of Bhubaneswar, was traveling with her husband on a bike from Bhubaneswar to Harirajpur’s Somanath Temple when the incident occurred.
As the couple made their way, two miscreants on a bike chased them and attempted to snatch Bishnu’s gold chain. However, they failed to steal the chain due to its thickness. Undeterred, the miscreants pursued the couple again and attacked Bishnu in an attempt to steal the chain.
During the attack, Bishnu suffered severe head injuries, but her brave response startled the attackers, forcing them to retreat after she raised an alarm and chased them away. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, Bishnu succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday evening, leaving her family and the community in deep sorrow.
