Odisha Vigilance: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 18: On Monday, Odisha Vigilance officials uncovered significant assets belonging to Kamakshyanagar sub-collector Narayan Chandra Nayak, who is under investigation for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The raids, conducted at 10 locations across Bhubaneswar (Khurda), Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj, involved teams led by 7 DSPs, 3 inspectors, 8 ASIs, and other supporting staff. The operation was carried out based on search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
During the house searches, the following assets were found in the name of Nayak and his family members including a triple-storey building (under construction) covering 4800 sqft in Jharpada, Bhubaneswar, a triple-storey building with a 6900 sqft area in Kuansa, Bhadrak, a double-storey building (under construction) with a 6200 sqft area in Gelpur, Bhadrak, 13 high-value plots (6 in Bhubaneswar, 6 in Bhadrak, and 1 in Pipili, Puri), 250 grams of gold, Rs 1,48,680 in cash and a two-wheeler.
The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently assessing and valuing the buildings and plots, while further investigations are underway to determine other deposits and investments linked to the official.
