Weather News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen),  Nov 20: The night temperature in G Udayagiri, located in Kandhamal district, further dropped to 6.2°C over the last 24 hours, making it the coldest place in the state. On the previous day, it recorded 6.6°C.

Semiliguda in Koraput followed closely with a temperature of 8.1°C, while Phulbani and Daringbadi, both in Kandhamal, recorded temperatures of 9.5°C and 10.5°C, respectively. Jharsuguda saw a significant dip in temperature, dropping to 11.5°C, which is 5 degrees below normal. Angul also experienced a fall in temperature, with the mercury standing at 12°C, 5.5 degrees below normal.

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded temperatures of 16°C each, which is 3 and 1.9 degrees below the normal levels.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts dry weather across the state until November 26, with shallow to moderate fog expected in some places in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Sundargarh districts on November 20-21. The IMD also stated that there would be no significant change in the minimum temperature over the next 4-5 days. To address potential hazards due to dense fog, the Special Relief Commissioner’s office has instructed police and transport officials to ensure controlled vehicle movement in affected districts.
