Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 19: woman was allegedly beaten to death by her intoxicated husband in Singhsahi village, Oupada block, Balasore district, on Thursday night.
The deceased, identified as Gurubari Singh, was reportedly attacked by her husband, Pandu Singh. According to sources, Pandu Singh, 50, frequently returned home drunk and subjected Gurubari to physical abuse. This ongoing domestic violence tragically culminated in Gurubari’s death.
It has been reported that Pandu Singh had previously broken Gurubari’s hand during a separate incident of domestic violence. Following a tip-off, Oupada police, led by IIC Shravan Kumar Maharana, arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
Gurubari’s brother stated, “Pandu is a habitual offender who continued to assault her even after she was already beaten. When we arrived, we found him sitting near Gurubari’s body. He claimed he had not killed her, but he should be taken into police custody.”
