Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 23: The Odisha government has issued a directive to all departments, mandating the payment of full pension to employees on the day of their retirement. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has sent an official letter to ensure that employees across all ranks receive their complete pension on their superannuation day.

The letter further instructs officials authorized to sanction pensions to ensure that all eligible employees are paid in full on their retirement day. While the General Administration and Grievance Redressal Department had previously issued similar instructions, it was not consistently followed across departments.

In accordance with the Odisha Civil Services Pension Rules of 1992, all government employees must take necessary steps to ensure the full payment of their pension on the day of retirement. Employees with pending allegations or vigilance cases are advised to resolve them before their retirement date. This initiative is aimed at improving governance and ensuring humane treatment of employees.

Additionally, the letter mandates that pension-related information for retired employees be provided on the seventh of each month.
