Rani Priyadarshini: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 25: The State Transport Authority (STA) of Odisha has seized the scooter of jatra actress Rani Priyadarshini after a video of her riding without a helmet went viral on social media. The actress posted the video, which sparked widespread criticism regarding road safety and her disregard for traffic rules.

In the viral clip, Priyadarshini is seen riding a scooter without a helmet, leading many to accuse her of setting a bad example. The STA swiftly responded by seizing her scooter, and the actress could face legal consequences, including a fine, for violating traffic regulations.

In a statement on X, the STA mentioned that the Bhubaneswar RTO-2, in collaboration with the Badagada police, took necessary action under the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act). The STA thanked the public for bringing the matter to their attention.

Authorities also advised people against recording videos or reels on public roads, stressing the importance of road safety and adherence to traffic laws. The MV Act mandates helmets for both riders and pillion passengers to minimize head injuries in accidents.
