Odisha News: 10 nursing students hospitalised in Bhubaneswar for suspected food poisoning

Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 28: Ten female students from Aryan Nursing College in Bhubaneswar were hospitalised on Thursday after showing symptoms of food poisoning. The incident occurred after students ordered food from outside through the hostel warden, following complaints about insects found in the hostel’s dal.

According to sources, 12 students experienced nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea early in the morning. They were rushed to BMC Hospital around 9 am for medical attention. “Out of the 12 students, 10 were admitted and administered saline. Their condition is now stable, while the remaining two were given medication and are under observation,” said a doctor from the hospital.

The college management is yet to comment on the incident. Meanwhile, students have demanded an immediate inquiry into the quality of food served in the hostel. This incident has raised concerns about food hygiene standards in hostels, prompting calls for stricter regulations to ensure student safety. Authorities are investigating the matter to prevent such occurrences in the future.
