weather news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 10: After a brief spell of rain, dry weather is expected to prevail in Odisha until December 16, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather agency has predicted shallow to moderate fog in a few areas, including Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal, lasting until Wednesday morning. Bhubaneswar experienced fog and mist in the early hours, which later cleared to reveal a bright sky.
Additionally, the state is anticipated to experience a drop in night temperatures by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next three days. In the last 24 hours, Koraput recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 14 degrees Celsius. Other notable temperatures included Jharsuguda and Kirei at 15.2 degrees Celsius each, Rourkela at 15.5 degrees Celsius, Boudh at 15.7 degrees Celsius, and Sundargarh at 15.8 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure area has intensified over the southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. This system is likely to continue moving west-northwest towards the coasts of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours, indicating potential changes in weather patterns ahead.
