Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 10: The Odisha government is set to address traffic congestion in Bhubaneswar, which has been exacerbated by the city’s growing population, through the construction of a flyover, a new ring road, and several railway overbridges (ROBs).
On Tuesday, the Public Works Department presented the proposed projects to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan. Key initiatives include the construction of a new road connecting Jaydev Vihar to Nandankanan, a ring road stretching from Patia railway station to NH-16 along the Daya West Canal, and the upgrading of the Sundarpada-Jatni road.
Additionally, plans include a new road linking the Institute of Mathematics on Patapalli-Trishulia Road to Ekamra Kanan, a flyover at Kalpana Square-Museum-Ravi Talkies, and an ROB between Sishu Bhawan Chhak and Mausi Maa Chhak. The proposed Tamando-Chandaka-Baran-Dhauli-Tamando ring road is also part of the initiative.
The Housing and Urban Development Department provided a comprehensive presentation regarding the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri Economic Region and the formation of Greater Bhubaneswar. Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singhdeo and Pravatii Parida, along with several senior officials, attended the meeting.
