Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 14: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Saturday that several major development projects, including a cement plant, will be launched to boost Malkangiri district’s growth.
The announcement came after a high-level review meeting focused on the district’s development. The Chief Minister emphasized that the development of the Swabhiman Anchal region will be prioritized when selecting project locations. All projects will be implemented under the direct supervision of the RDC (Southern) and the district collector.
In a bid to enhance local employment opportunities, Majhi revealed that a cement factory worth Rs 4,000 crore would be established in the district, creating jobs for around 2,000 youths.
Additionally, a six-lane special corridor will be constructed to link southern Odisha with the northern part of the state. The corridor will start from Motu and end at Tiring in Mayurbhanj, passing through Malkangiri.
Majhi also stated that the land acquisition process for upcoming railway projects in the district would begin soon.
