Odisha News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 14: A newborn girl was discovered abandoned along a road near Tulundupali village under the Binika Police station in Sonepur, Odisha, on Saturday.
According to reports, a local resident named Santosh Nayi spotted the half-buried baby and realized she was still alive. Without hesitation, he rushed the infant to the Binika Community Health Centre (CHC), where she received initial medical care. Due to her condition, the newborn was later transferred to the Sonepur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where her condition is now reported to be stable.
Sharing his experience, Santosh Nayi said, “I found the baby lying abandoned on the road, covered in mud, blood, and dirt. I had no idea how long she had been there in the cold. But once I saw she was alive, I immediately rushed her to the hospital and requested the doctors to help her. They took swift action and referred her to the Sonepur District Hospital.”
Meanwhile, Santosh and his wife, who are childless, have expressed a desire to adopt the abandoned girl. The couple has approached the district administration, seeking permission to take custody of the child.
