weather News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 14: As cold wave conditions intensify across Odisha, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district has emerged as the coldest place in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 5.2°C over the last 24 hours.
The hill station of G Udayagiri was closely followed by Rourkela, where the temperature dipped to 7.2°C, down from 8.1°C recorded on Friday.
Dense fog enveloped several areas in Kandhamal, while shallow fog was observed in parts of Kalahandi. Meanwhile, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also experienced a significant drop in temperature, both recording temperatures below 15°C. Bhubaneswar recorded 14°C, while Cuttack’s temperature fell to 12°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Several other places across the state saw temperatures fall below 10°C, with Jharsuguda recording 8°C and Kirei seeing a low of 8.8°C. Phulbani in Kandhamal and Semiliguda in Koraput both recorded 9°C, while Sundargarh experienced a temperature drop to 10°C.
