Patha Utsav: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 21: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Saturday that the much-anticipated Patha Utsav, scheduled for December 22, has been postponed due to the relentless rain caused by a depression over the Bay of Bengal.

In a post on social media platform X, the BMC stated, “Due to prevailing bad weather conditions, the Bhubaneswar Patha Utsav on December 22, 2024, is postponed. The next date and venue will be communicated shortly.”

The event was originally set to commence at 6 AM at Master Canteen Square, and it aimed to showcase a variety of cultural performances in celebration of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention, which will take place in the city from January 8 to 10, 2025.

The Patha Utsav typically features a vibrant mix of music, dance, quizzes, skating, yoga, and cycling, with activities planned along the road from Master Canteen to Ram Mandir. Launched in 2016, the initiative seeks to engage the public in cultural and recreational activities during the winter season. Last year, the Patha Utsav kicked off on Christmas, coinciding with the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, and was held along Ratha Road in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar.
