Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 2: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling announced that women beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Odisha will be entitled to cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh, while male members of a household will be covered for Rs 5 lakh.
Scheduled for launch in February, the scheme will enable beneficiaries to access cashless healthcare services at 30,000 hospitals nationwide. Minister Mahaling revealed that based on e-KYC data, approximately 3.5 crore people in Odisha will receive the Ayushman Bharat card. Efforts are being made to ensure that no economically weaker individual is excluded from this scheme.
A Central team has already visited Odisha to oversee preparations for the scheme’s implementation. Mahaling emphasized that the state’s health sector is poised for transformation in 2025 with the establishment of new medical colleges and the rollout of the National Digital Health Mission.
Additionally, beneficiaries of Odisha’s Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana will continue to enjoy uninterrupted healthcare benefits, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to inclusive health coverage.
