Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 3: Hari Babu Kambhampati was sworn in as the 27th Governor of Odisha during a ceremony at Raj Bhawan on Friday. The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh, in the presence of notable dignitaries, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik, state ministers, MLAs, MPs, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and DGP Y.B. Khurania. Following the ceremony, Kambhampati received a guard of honour.
Shortly after his swearing-in, Kambhampati expressed his commitment to the people of Odisha on the social media platform X, stating, “Sworn in as the Governor of Odisha, a land of timeless culture, vibrant history, and unyielding spirit. Committed to serving its incredible people and fostering progress, harmony, and growth. Together, let us strive to build a brighter future.”
Kambhampati, who previously served as the Governor of Mizoram, was appointed to the Odisha governorship on December 24 after Raghubar Das resigned from the position. He arrived in Bhubaneswar with his family on Thursday, where he received a guard of honour before visiting Puri for the sacred darshan of Lord Jagannath. During this visit, the temple administration presented him with Khandua, the flag, and other relics associated with the deities.
