Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 3: Amid the winter chill, Odisha is expected to experience a slight rise in night temperatures in the coming days, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.
According to the midday bulletin, the night temperatures in the state are likely to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius after two days. During the next week, the mercury is predicted to hover around 12-14 degrees Celsius in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The weather agency also issued a warning for dense fog in certain areas, particularly in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, and Koraput districts, which is expected to persist until Saturday morning. Additionally, shallow to moderate fog may affect locations in Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj over the next 24 hours.
In the past 24 hours, temperatures in the state dropped below 10 degrees Celsius at nine locations, with G Udayagiri in Kandhamal recorded as the coldest at 4.8 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day. Meanwhile, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar logged temperatures of 12.4°C and 14°C, respectively, which is 1°C below normal, following previous readings of 13°C and 13.2°C.
