Odisha news: Minor sisters die in Jajpur tractor accident, driver critically injured

Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Jan 4: In a tragic incident in Odisha’s Jajpur district, two minor sisters lost their lives when a tractor towing a paddy harvester machine overturned on Saturday morning. The accident occurred in the Jodabara area, under the jurisdiction of the Jajpur Road police station.

The deceased sisters, identified as 14-year-old Dulari Hansda and 11-year-old Rani Hansda, were the daughters of Raju Hansda, residents of Majhisahi in Jodabara. Reports indicate that the tractor was transporting the harvester when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The tractor, along with the attached harvester, overturned and fell into a roadside canal, tragically crushing the two girls underneath.

Both Dulari and Rani were pronounced dead at the scene, while the tractor driver suffered critical injuries. Upon receiving news of the accident, local police quickly arrived at the site to manage the situation. They sent the bodies of the sisters for post-mortem examination and transported the injured driver to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. The incident has left the community in deep shock and mourning. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
