Odisha news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Feb 12: The Odisha government has announced a salary hike for Junior Teachers (Schematic) working in elementary schools across the state under the Samagra Sikshya Scheme.
As per the new pay structure, the monthly salary of Junior Teachers engaged in Primary and Upper Primary schools has been increased from ₹11,100 to ₹16,000. The School and Mass Education Department issued a resolution on February 12, stating that the revised remuneration will be applicable with immediate effect.
The decision to enhance salaries was approved by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in January. Official sources revealed that 13,740 Junior Teachers (Schematic) are currently employed in the state, and the salary hike will cost the state exchequer an additional ₹89.15 crore annually.
Additionally, the state government has increased its contribution to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) for these teachers, raising the amount from ₹1,443 to ₹1,950 per teacher.
