crime news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen) Feb 17: A tense situation unfolded at a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar after a third-year BTech student from Nepal was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside the hostel campus.

While the exact cause of her death is yet to be determined, initial reports suggest that she may have died by suicide. It is alleged that she took the extreme step following mental harassment by a male friend from the same university due to a strained relationship.

According to sources, the deceased was in a relationship with a mechanical engineering student from the same university. However, their relationship reportedly deteriorated after the boy secured a job offer and relocated, leading to misunderstandings. This allegedly caused distress to the student, pushing her to take the drastic step.

Following the incident, widespread outrage erupted among students, who took to the streets demanding justice for their fellow student. Protesters blocked roads near the campus and called for the immediate arrest of the deceased’s boyfriend, whom they hold responsible for her tragic demise.

To control the unrest, police forces were swiftly deployed to the university campus. As per reports, two platoons of police personnel have been stationed to restore order and pacify the protesting students.
