Uttam Mohanty: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Feb 28: The passing of legendary Odia actor Uttam Mohanty has left Odisha in deep mourning, with eminent personalities from various fields expressing their grief and offering condolences. The veteran actor, who made an indelible mark in Odia cinema, was widely revered for his versatile performances across Odia, Bengali, and Hindi films.
Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy described Mohanty’s demise as an “irreparable loss” to the Odia film industry. In her condolence message, she highlighted his immense popularity and remarkable contributions to acting. She prayed for the departed soul’s eternal peace and extended condolences to his bereaved family.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo also expressed his sorrow on social media, calling Mohanty’s contributions to Odia cinema “immense.” “His exceptional talent has left an indelible mark on our cultural heritage.
