accident: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 30: A series of tragic accidents in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Saturday resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals and left three others critically injured. Preliminary reports indicate that the incidents occurred near Badadalima Chhak and the Bagdegra area in the morning hours.
A speeding truck first struck three pedestrians at Badadalima Chhak, killing one person on the spot and inflicting serious injuries on the other two victims. After the initial collision, the driver of the truck fled the scene, continuing on and subsequently colliding with an autorickshaw at Bagdegra, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Bahalada police station. Tragically, the driver of the autorickshaw, along with a couple who were passengers, lost their lives in the impact. Another passenger in the vehicle sustained critical injuries.
Emergency services transported the injured individuals to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment. Local police have launched an investigation into the series of accidents and have sent the deceased’s bodies for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Authorities are working diligently to gather more information and hold those responsible accountable.
