acid attack: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 19: A man and his 12-year-old son suffered critical injuries after an unidentified assailant threw acid on them in the early hours of Saturday at Kundeli village, under Tumudibandha police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
The victims have been identified as Mohan Kandar and his son, Anuj Kandar. According to sources, the father and son were sleeping on the porch of their house when the attacker doused them with acid. Their screams woke the family, but the assailant had fled by the time anyone could respond.
The injured duo was rushed to the Tumudibandha Medical Centre. Given the severity of their injuries, they were later shifted to the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Baliguda for advanced treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, visiting the crime scene and questioning villagers to identify the culprit. Authorities are working to uncover the motive behind the attack, with further details awaited.
