Amit Shah: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 29: Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Bhubaneswar on Friday afternoon to attend the three-day All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police. He was welcomed at the airport by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, along with Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram, and state BJP president Manmohan Samal.
Shah will inaugurate the national-level meet at the Convention Hall of Lok Seva Bhawan. The event, spanning November 29 to December 1, will also be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and senior security officials.
Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive at 4:20 PM and will participate in the conference from Saturday. Discussions will focus on pressing national security challenges, including counter-terrorism, Left-wing extremism, coastal security, narcotics control, and new criminal laws.
The conference will provide a platform for senior police officials to share best practices on crime control, law and order management, and internal security measures. The event will also feature the presentation of the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service.
