Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), July 17: The body of a young man who went missing after jumping into the Mahanadi River near Jobra in Cuttack on Monday night was recovered near a museum on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Prashant Rout, a resident of Chhatra Bazar area in Cuttack.
Prashant reportedly left his home after a disagreement with family members and tragically chose to end his life by jumping into the Mahanadi River. His motorcycle and sandals were found near the riverbank.
Locals observed Prashant near the riverbank on Monday night before he jumped into the river. Although the firefighting team was alerted promptly, the search operation was hindered by darkness.
The search resumed Tuesday morning, and the body of the missing youth, feared drowned, was eventually recovered by firefighting officials.
