Burglars loot ancestral home of retired IAS officer in Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 16: Burglars targeted the ancestral house of retired IAS officer Bijay Nayak in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, looting gold ornaments, cash, and other valuables. The incident occurred on Sunday night at Budanga village under Tihidi police station limits.

According to reports, the robbers entered the house by twisting open the metal grills of a window. At the time, Nayak and his family were away attending a program for 2-3 days. The house, which also accommodates a tenant, was unoccupied during the burglary, as the tenant was also away.

Upon returning, the tenant discovered the robbery and reported that the thieves had stolen gold worth ₹1.5 lakh, ₹20,000 in cash, a TV, and an inverter.

Tihidi police arrived at the scene after being alerted and have initiated an investigation. A scientific team has been dispatched to gather forensic evidence. Authorities are working to identify and apprehend the culprits as the probe continues.
