Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 15: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday said that the state is on a transformative path, proudly embracing its ‘Asmita’ (pride) and ‘Swaviman’ (self-respect).
During the Independence Day celebrations at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, where he hoisted the national flag and reviewed the parade, Majhi announced several new development initiatives. He emphasized that Odisha is committed to genuine progress, steering clear of empty rhetoric.
Marking the first Independence Day under the BJP administration in Odisha, Majhi paid homage to the freedom fighters, affirming the state’s dedication to reaching new heights of development with pride and self-respect.
Majhi reiterated his commitment to fulfilling promises rather than making grandiose claims. “For the sake of my land, I know how to fight,” he stated.
The Chief Minister outlined ambitious economic goals, aiming for Odisha to become a $500 billion economy by 2036 and a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047. He highlighted the importance of industrial growth, particularly the semiconductor industry, in achieving these targets, predicting a prosperous future for Odisha.
Majhi also announced a significant initiative to uplift 500 tribal villages through the ‘Ideal Tribal Village’ scheme over the next five years, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
