Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Aug 22: Congress workers today clashed with police during a protest aimed at surrounding the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Bhubaneswar. The demonstration was part of a nationwide response to recent allegations made by Hindenburg Research.

Protestors, including senior Congress leaders such as AICC Odisha in-charge Ajoy Kumar and Mohammed Moquim, gathered to protest allegations made by Hindenburg Research on August 10. The report accused SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband Dhaval Buch of holding stakes in offshore funds allegedly linked to the Adani money siphoning scandal.

The situation escalated when demonstrators attempted to breach barricades set up by police around the ED office. The confrontation led to a scuffle, with police and Congress workers pushing each other as the latter tried to overcome the barriers.

Congress accused the BJP-led Central government of politicizing probe agencies like the ED, CBI, and NIA for partisan purposes. The Congress and other INDIA bloc parties are calling for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into the Hindenburg Research claims.
