Crime News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Oct 26: A 21-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by three unidentified men in front of her fiancé inside a forest in Nayagarh district, Odisha. Although the incident occurred on October 20, it came to light only after the survivor filed a complaint at Fategarh police station on Friday, according to police reports.

Upon receiving the complaint, law enforcement acted swiftly and arrested the three accused. They have since been presented before the court, as stated in a release from the Police State Headquarters in Cuttack on Saturday.

The incident unfolded when the woman and her fiancé were returning home after visiting the Fategarh Ram Temple in the evening. “Three unknown individuals intercepted them near Pithakhai forest, forcefully taking them into the woods and gang-raping the woman while threatening her fiancé with a knife,” said Bimal Kumar Barik, the Khandapada Sub-divisional Police Officer.

Barik also revealed that the assailants recorded the incident on a mobile phone and shared the video on social media, where it has since gone viral. Following the registration of a case, the police detained three suspects for questioning, leading to their subsequent arrest. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
