crime news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 23: Unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked a man and kidnapped his female friend in the Maitri Vihar area of Bhubaneswar on Monday morning, creating a sense of alarm in the community.
According to preliminary reports, a group of around four assailants chased and attacked the young man, identified as Akash Singh, before abducting his female companion. During the assault, Akash sustained critical injuries. Fortunately, locals rushed to his aid and he was subsequently admitted to the Capital Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
In a disturbing turn of events, the attackers later contacted Akash via his mobile phone, demanding ransom for the safe release of his friend. This alarming demand has heightened the urgency of the situation.
In response to the incident, the Commissionerate Police have launched a comprehensive operation aimed at rescuing the kidnapped woman. Police teams are conducting raids at various locations in and around Bhubaneswar as part of their efforts.
