crime news: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Dec 14: A railway employee was arrested by the police for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl in the Muribahal area of Odisha’s Balangir district.
According to sources, the incident came to light when the Muribahal police received a complaint from the girl’s family. The accused, identified as Ghanashyam Bhoi, a gangman with the railways in Kesinga, was arrested on Friday after a detailed investigation. Ghanashyam, a resident of Loisingha in Balangir district, had reportedly developed an affection for the minor girl, who is a student at a local college.
On December 9, Ghanashyam allegedly kidnapped the girl from her home. The police, acting swiftly on the complaint, launched an investigation and traced the girl to a house in Kesinga. She was rescued safely, and Ghanashyam was arrested shortly thereafter.
The police have now initiated further investigations into the case, and Ghanashyam is being interrogated to determine the full extent of the crime. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against the accused, and the case will be dealt with seriously.
