Crime News: Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), Nov 22: Seven people have been arrested in connection with a brutal clash between nomadic groups in Sundergarh district, Odisha, that occurred last October, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, including three women. The incident took place in Gitapada, under the Karamdihi area, within the Sundergarh Sadar Police Station jurisdiction.

Following a thorough investigation, Sundergarh police apprehended the seven accused persons from Maharashtra and Karnataka. According to sources, the clash was triggered by an alleged extramarital affair and led to a violent confrontation among nomadic groups. The victims, including three women, were killed while they were asleep, and four others were severely injured during the attack.

The nomadic groups involved consisted of three families: one from Wardha in Maharashtra, another from Dhanbad in Jharkhand, and a third from Chapra in Bihar. These families had arrived in Sundergarh just 4 to 5 days before the violent clash. The arrested individuals have now been brought back to Sundergarh, where the police continue their investigation into the matter.
