Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), April 14: Odisha has become one of the leading states in adopting a paperless and digital legislative process through the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), a significant initiative aimed at digitizing legislative functions.
Delhi, which recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs for the implementation of this project, is now seeking to learn from Odisha’s successful adoption of NeVA.
Vijender Gupta, the Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, will be visiting Bhubaneswar from April 15 to 17 for a three-day study tour. The visit is aimed at understanding the best practices, technological frameworks, and operational models that Odisha has implemented to ensure the effective use of NeVA. According to an official from the Delhi Assembly Secretariat, the primary objective of Gupta’s visit is to gather insights on how Odisha has successfully transitioned to a paperless legislative system.
During the last Budget session, Gupta had announced that the Delhi Assembly would be fully paperless within 100 days. Gupta will be accompanied by Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, senior officials from the Delhi Legislative Assembly, and other key personnel involved in the NeVA project.
