Bhubaneswar, (Reporter’s Pen): Preparations have been started for distribution of free Mahaprasad to the devotees who come to the temple for darshan of Lord Mahaprabhu. The donor is being contacted. The outline will be prepared after taking the necessary arrangements. An interpretation center will also be constructed for Jagannath devotees coming from abroad.

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan made this big statement while attending the Rath Seva honor program organized at Puri Central Sanskrit University on behalf of Shri Shrikshatra Information. The law minister also expressed his views on the state government’s plans regarding the number of precious stones, the land mortgage problem of Purivashis, and the start of the Adhapantaria project.

Every day about one to one and a half lakh devotees come to the shrine while two and a half lakh devotees come on the festival day. The law minister said that efforts are being made to outline how they can be provided with free Mahaprasad while discussions are also going on with various donors. Suresh Mohapatra introduced this system when he was the Chief Administrator of Srimandi.

Due to the growing public support for this, the administration of the Shrimandi decided to conduct the free Mahaprasad service on a larger scale. For this, in the last financial budget of 2018-19, an expenditure of one and a half crore rupees was allocated. But after covid no more free Mahaprasad is given to devotees.
