Ekamra Bali Jatra: Bhubaneswar (Reporterspen) Oct. 18: The inaugural ‘Ekamra Bali Jatra and Boita Bandhana Festival’ is set to enchant visitors along the Kuakhai River in Bankual, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Organized by the Bankual Village Committee, the festival will run from October 15 to 22, marking a significant cultural event for the region.
At a recent press conference, committee president Kabiraj Swain expressed excitement over the long-awaited festival, which has been a dream for local residents. “This year, we are thrilled to finally bring the idea of a sand festival to life,” he said, highlighting the community’s efforts to create a vibrant celebration.
The festival will feature over 300 stalls showcasing a variety of goods, including local tribal products and handmade items from Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Visitors can enjoy Ram Doli rides, colorful cultural programs, and performances by invited celebrities. Special activities for children, including swings on the sand, are also planned.
With an anticipated large turnout, the committee has implemented measures to ensure visitor safety and convenience. Parking facilities and traffic management plans have been coordinated with local authorities to mitigate congestion. Committee members will assist police in maintaining order throughout the event.
Kabiraj Swain emphasized the festival’s goal of achieving statewide recognition, calling on the community to support its success. Other committee members, including executive president Anand Bishwal and vice-president Nirodh Swain, expressed their commitment to making this festival a memorable experience for all.
