Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 4: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik commenced a marathon campaign on Saturday, covering four districts in south Odisha to bolster the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections. The campaign, which began in Koraput, is set to continue throughout the day.

Upon landing in Jeypore, Patnaik swiftly proceeded to Koraput to participate in the regional party’s election campaign, seeking the support of the people. Notably, BJD aims to reclaim the Koraput Lok Sabha seat, which was lost in the 2019 elections to Congress candidate Saptagiri Ulaka.

Addressing a rally in Koraput, Patnaik is scheduled to hold election meetings in Nabarangpur, Rayagada, and Gajapati districts. Accompanied by his close aide V K Pandian, the Chief Minister is expected to engage in a packed schedule throughout the day.

Following the campaign in Nabarangpur, Patnaik will proceed to Rayagada, where he will attend a meeting at 3:40 pm. Later, the campaign will continue in Paralakhemundi, Ganajati, at 5 pm.

Patnaik had previously initiated the party’s election campaign with a rally in Hinjili, Ganjam district. Additionally, as the chairman of the 5T initiative, he urged people to cast their votes twice, once for the Member of Parliament and then for the Member of the Legislative Assembly, in favor of the BJD.
