Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), May 8: Neeraj Chopra is gearing up for his first domestic competition in India since the 2021 Federation Cup. He will be showcasing his talent at the 27th National Federation Cup athletics championships, scheduled from May 12 to May 15 at the Kalinga Stadium.

Before his appearance at the Federation Cup, the reigning World Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games champion will be participating in the Doha Diamond League meet on May 10. Neeraj will be competing in the men’s javelin throw event in Doha alongside fellow Indian athlete Kishore Jena.

Expressing his aspirations for the season, Neeraj emphasized his focus on achieving peak form before the Paris Olympics. He emphasized the importance of fitness, strength, and technique in his training regimen, highlighting his excitement to represent India on the global stage.

Regarding the elusive 90-metre mark, Neeraj reiterated that distance is not his primary concern. He emphasized the significance of maintaining peak fitness, consistency throughout the season, and delivering standout performances when it matters the most.

Reflecting on his performance in Tokyo, Neeraj indicated that his preparation for global tournaments is on the right track. He emphasized his achievements, including winning medals at World Championships, achieving a personal best at Stockholm, securing a Diamond League title, and defending his gold at the Asian Games. Neeraj expressed his determination to carry forward his momentum from May onwards.
