Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen), April 26: On April 28, BJP’s national President JP Nadda and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are slated to make appearances in Odisha, with Nadda addressing a public gathering in Berhampur and Rahul Gandhi scheduled to speak in Rayagada.

Following his address in Berhampur, Nadda will engage with BJP workers in Nabarangpur, as revealed by former BJP President of Odisha unit, Samir Mohanty. This visit holds significance for the BJP as it strategically targets weaker constituencies in preparation for the upcoming General Elections, aiming to bolster its presence in both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Despite BJP’s persistent efforts, the party has yet to secure a stronghold in Odisha, facing resistance in penetrating the Patnaik bastion.

Meanwhile, sources confirm Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Rayagada on the same day. Ahead of the polls for the Koraput parliamentary seat on May 13, AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is set to rally in the district, as announced by Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, the current MP and Congress candidate for the constituency.

Ulaka outlined a comprehensive election strategy, revealing plans for campaigning by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Bhagel, in addition to Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi’s appearances.

These visits by prominent political figures underscore the escalating political activity in Odisha as parties gear up for critical electoral contests in the region.
