Bhubaneswar, (Reporterspen) April 22: As the political fervor intensifies ahead of the upcoming dual elections in Odisha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is poised to visit Salepur in Cuttack district on April 28, as informed by state Congress in-charge Ajoy Kumar on Monday.

“We have urged Rahul Gandhi to spearhead the campaign in Salepur, Rayagada, and Berhampur. A massive rally in coastal Odisha is essential to bolster the party’s prospects in the forthcoming elections. We’ve proposed two dates – April 28 and May 3 – and anticipate confirmation by this evening or tomorrow morning,” Kumar told reporters.

Additionally, Kumar mentioned that they have requested party president Mallikarjun Kharge to campaign in Balangir and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi in Nabarangpur. Priyanka is slated to visit Odisha on May 6, while Kharge is expected to campaign on May 7.

Former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das, the party’s campaign committee chairman, had earlier hinted at Rahul’s potential visit to the state coinciding with the birth anniversary of Madhu Babu on April 28. Furthermore, Gandhi may visit Rayagada on May 3 to address a massive rally expected to draw 100,000 locals and party supporters, according to Saptagiri Ulaka, the Congress’ MP candidate from Koraput.
Ulaka also disclosed that Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy is likely to campaign in the southern Odisha district on May 8 to engage Telugu voters. Reddy will participate in a grand procession, commencing from Amalabhata Chhak after paying homage at Maa Majhiriani Temple in Rayagada, he added.
